COBA LB Minimum Wage Study

Dear COBA members and community partners

Below is the link for the final draft of the minimum wage study, commissioned by the LB Council of Business Associations (COBA) and released last week that was presented to the Economic Development Commission  (EDC) at last night’s meeting  (Monday, 12/14 began at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall). COBA used this information to reach a consensus reflecting the following recommendations:

  1. $12.50/hr over the course of five years (wage includes medical benefits, paid sick days and PTO).
  2. 1-year delay for small businesses with under 25 employees
  3. 2-year delay for nonprofits
  4. Youth/training for 21-year-old and younger to be paid at State of California minimum wage
